Since 1961, Southern California's Favorite Bluegrass, Old-Time and Folk Music Festival
The Board of Topanga Banjo Fiddle Contest recently met and is planning to hold next yearfs festival on their usual 3rd Sunday of May: May 19, 2019.
As to location, plans are under discussion with the National Park Service to utilize Paramount Ranch in a somewhat altered form
from the previous years, which may require some programmatic changes. Alternate sites in the surrounding area are also under consideration
but are not as likely from initial surveys and discussions the board has completed.
Some of the alternatives would require major program pruning leaving just the core essential
of the festival: the contest and open jamming. Stay tuned, and check our website for additional updates in
the coming months.
As always, we appreciate the continued support from the National Park Service as they undertake rebuilding a historic resource.
The Topanga Banjo•Fiddle Contest & Folk Festival is
ALWAYS the third Sunday in May.
